The Supreme Court has accepted an important petition of the Government of Delhi. The Supreme Court has allowed the BJP government to withdraw 7 cases filed against the Central and Lieutenant Governor during the AAP government.
These cases were filed by the Common Man Party (AAP) government against the Central Government and the Lieutenant Governor (LG). These lawsuits were related to a number of constitutional and administrative issues in Delhi, including ‘control over services ’.
These cases were pending in court for a long time and became a symbol of confrontation between the Government of Delhi and the Lieutenant Governor over the jurisdiction of the Center and the Lieutenant Governor. The bench of Chief Justice BR Gawai and Justice Agustin George Christ noted the pleas of Additional Solicitor General Aishwarya Batti on behalf of the BJP Neet government and accepted the petition.
